You Can Now Rent the World’s Last Blockbuster for $4 a Night on Airbnb

Think the iconic video rental store Blockbuster is long gone? Think again. Blockbuster is not extinct, my friends. Instead, it’s an endangered species as there’s only one left in the world. ONE!

Located in Bend, Oregon, the last remaining Blockbuster is run by store manager Sandi Harding who has victoriously led the noble fight to keep her store open despite online streaming services steamrolling VHS tapes and DVDs.

To thank her loyal customers who have kept her store open through their devotion to nostalgia (I’m getting flashbacks thinking about that beautiful whirring sound VHS cassettes make when rewinding), Harding is renting out the retro store as an Airbnb for a very limited time.

That’s right, folks. A few lucky individuals will get to spend the night in an honest-to-goodness Blockbuster store and relive the glory of the ’90s.

Netflix and chill? No way. We’re going old school, baby.

The rental will only be bookable by residents of Deschutes County where the store is located, and will be available for three one-night reservations on September 18, 19, and 20. What’s more is that each night will only set you back $4, which happens to be just a penny more than a $3.99 movie rental.

Clearly, Sandi Harding is the real MVP of Bend.

Reservations open on August 17th at 1pm PST, so all you lucky residents of Deschutes County better act fast then.
