UK-based luxury menswear label A-COLD-WALL* has teamed up with iconic British footwear brand Dr. Martens to rework the classic 1460 boot to celebrate 60 years of the famous silhouette.
The redesigned boot is inspired by the British social climate and youth culture, and features deconstructed details and a minimalist aesthetic as a sharp contrast to its uniform and workwear origins.
The understated design “represents a shattering of class boundaries: blue-collar uniform meets high-end tailoring” with no eyelets, an extra side zip, dual-branded silicone zip pull, moulded panel detailing, and A-COLD-WALL* debossing on the heel.
“The 1460 is placed right in the middle of 20th Century cultural crosshairs,” says A-COLD-WALL* founder Samuel Ross. “It’s incredible.”
The 1460 A-COLD-WALL* drops July 25th at 8 a.m. PST and will be available in limited numbers at drmartens.com and select partners for $230.
